One of the really great things about Messier 31, the Great Andromeda Galaxy, is that it is actually close enough to resolve some of its stars in amateur level equipment. Friday night was bitterly cold here, but nice and clear. I used the occasion to image part of Messier 31, including NGC 206, a star forming region, and Messier 32, a dwarf elliptical satellite galaxy. Total integration time was 7 hours and 40 minutes.
I'm looking forward to being able to image Messier 31 with my Stellarvue SV80ST-25SV. I should be able to get most of it in the field.
