After my Thankgiving Dinner, I took a look to see if the skies had cleared yet. They were taking there good old time. Eventually they did move off and I decided to go after the Flaming Star Nebula, IC 405 in Auriga. My initial attempts were no good because my guiding through the OAG was atrocious. Some adjustments to the focus commenced and things were then MUCH better. Apparently there is enough difference in the field flattening between the AT8RC with the CCDT67 and the SV80ST-25SV using the TS Flat2, that the OAG guide camera has to be moved a mm or two to get decent focus.
Fortunately, once the clouds moved out, they stayed out and I was able to gather 7 hours of Ha Data.
This image almost makes the price of admission with the SV80ST-25SV worth it all by itself. The faint detail visible is just awesome.
